Re: Unreliable bloom

This year was exceptionally bad for iris here in Nova Scotia, I have whole
patches with good foliage but no flowers. It was a very wet spring and
winter came on suddenly last fall, could those be factors?
Any tips how how to ensure adequate growth to get a flower every year? Such
a disappointment to wait all year for no flowers!

Louise,

You don't say what kind of irises you are growing. If they are Tall bearded, it may be they don't get enough sun or long enough growing season. I don't know what your USDA zone equivalent is, but if you are a pretty cold environment, some different irises would be better for you.
