Hi Betty, I certainly understand your reluctance to introduce anything that isn't REALLY special, but I guarantee that: if you love that variegata seedling enough to want to line it out, that there will be a lot of other people who will love it too. Surely there will be people who don't like it, but that's always going to be the case with any introduction - even the Dykes medal winners get trashed. You've been doing this for long enough (and definitely mentally invested ;0) that I'm pretty sure you're not going to be blind to the faults in your seedlings. So if you love it, it's got to be good enough. Now I expect to see future photos of it lined out and in full bloom ;0) Take care, Tom -------------------------------------------------------- Betty wrote: ...I've one I'm going to line out when the weather breaks--It's a tall variegata with good branching, bud count, bloom size, triple terminal, etc., etc., The color is good. On the bad side it rebloomed in October and has more haft marks than I would like. Personally, I love it. But will others trash it? Does it fall bloom too late? Is it too hafty? Will it behave in other climates? Will it even grow everywhere? Just how much time, money and energy must I spend to get it to the point of introduction? It's enough to make some people give up. ;-) Betty W.
