Did you happen to find the page for historic irises maintained by Mike Lowe?
It is superb, and there is information there about the types of observation
you will want to make in order to identify yours. Among the best means of
identifying them would be to send a rhizome to Phil Edinger, who is the ID
Chairman for the Historic Iris Preservation Society, HIPS, that section of
AIS which deals with irises more than thirty years old. You may wish to join
HIPS, too, if older irises interst you.You could also send him photographs,
and there is a guide for taking them on this HIPS page. The URL is:
