I shudder when someone comes up to me at the show or sale and reports that
they just "bought some iris bulbs from Springhill and/or Michigan Bulb".
And... of course... they hold EVERYONE in the AIS responsible for what
happens.
Again, we need to be PROactive rather than REactive - we offer people a
'recommended source list'... a list of catalogs and how to receive them that
we have personal experience and confidence in. NOT that these are the only
growers/sellers out there... but it's a managable list - we try to list the
ones with color pictures - and also on our list... under the caption "best
place to buy an iris" is our sale!
Anyone can sell an iris.... it's up to us to separate the wheat from the
chaff
the men from the boyz
truth from fiction
up from down
and so on
Kathyguest....who wonders if she's actually going to be able to take an SDB,
a TB AND a Japanese Iris to the show on Saturday!
