Not at all unusual.... fans mature at different rates - and this is a GOOD
thing, because if every fan had bloomed.... next year, you would have 0! A
rhizome can only bloom once, so if every fan had bloomed, you would have a
condition we call 'bloom out' and you would have a former iris. Judges look
for a good ratio of bloomstalks to fans... insuring the long life and future
bloom of your favorite iris.
