The Shahak seedlings derive from crossing a particular species with an
easier germinator/good grower (typically I. atropurpurea), then
backcrossing and linebreeding to bring out the flower characteristics of
the original species. So you may in fact have something with a fairly
strong resemblence to I. susiana. Unfortunately, Shahak tends to label such
things with the name of the species used, sometimes with the word "hybrid"
after it, rather than giving a parentage or seedling number; this causes
some confusion.

No, Shahak no longer has the species I. susiana.
