Welcome Jim,
You got bit bad. But you are in good company. I'm glad your new home has
space to accommodate more iris. My husband and I knew when we bought our
home that we wanted a decent garden. We never envisioned being so addicted
to iris. I had planned a nicely balanced garden -- one bed with roses, one
bed with irises and one bed with lilies with all sorts of odds and ends
mixed in. That lasted for about three years, when the lily beetle
devastated the lilies and we of course planted more iris. Now we are
contemplating how much acreage we might need.
Have fun and please do ask questions. Some topics have been well covered in
the past, so you might want to check the archives occasionally. But ask
anyway -- you never know if there has been a new development.
Tell us about your crosses and what you were thinking when you made them.
