Dear Jim,
Welcome to iris-talk! Your orders are not out of line yet; but if you are
not careful you may end up with a very large garden like Perry Dyer! Every
year I think that I am being so good and cutting down on my orders. I
thought I was doing especially well this year until I counted the number of
rhizomes I have already ordered at 150 and with as generous as iris people
are, I know more than 200 will arrive. This year I basically ordered very
few my daughter didn't want to hybridize with, so I was surprised at the
number. It will have to end! And, I will have to dig out at least 200
other varieties, and it should be more! Some days, so many things were in
bloom at the same time that I fear I didn't even do more than glance at some
things, and that is crazy indeed. That is why I like the MDBs, medians,
rebloomers and beardless...less is blooming at the same time and I can enjoy
them individually...enjoy your new garden!
