They will probably be ok. I think Rick Tasco at Superstition posted
that they harvest all of their stalks before the pods split and let them
finish ripening in buckets (no water). Stalks on many of mine tend to
collapse before the pods split - once the pod gets a whitish (yellow?)
cast to it, they are probably far enough along to finish without the
potato trick. I think folks said it takes about 2 months for them to
ripen & there were some posts about timing & the need for the potato
nourishment. Anybody want to review the archives and write a summary to
post and send to the AIS Bulletin or TBIS? Are there differences
amongst the groups (bearded vs non-bearded, medians vs TBs) that are
worth noting?
