Linda, I doubt there is worry. If there is, it would be with One List.
They are 'running' hundreds of lists and have archives if you want
them. (I understand we stayed with Mallorn Archives for the sake of
continuity). I have a friend on two other lists from One List, and he
says there is no 'operator, moderator, owner,' whatever you chose
to call it. Nearly one thousand are subscribers to one of his lists,
and he reports no problems.
Lairis seems to work the same way, and there are no subject
tags. You can decide from the subject line whether you want to
read the post or not.
There are lots of list servers out there.
