I do not mulch at all as rarely are irises mulched in nature except, of
course, in Ireland where the little people do it.
My yellow flowers look just like Dennis's photo although the colour
might me a tinge more yellow that cream. It seems that the first flower
was creamier than the subseqent ones.
The standards are up, like your fulva, nor down like your nelsonii. I
am beginning to think that I have a fulva but whether it is wild or a
cultivar, I am not sure as Bruce Richardson was not note for breeding.
It us so beautiful that it might be raised to the top of my list!
Ian, in Ottawa where more spurias are about to open and a crop of ensata
will be along in about a week.
