     That is more like what I would have expected.  Here, a normal summer
Day will reach 33-34 C.  If it reaches 39 C, that is considered terribly
hot.  The all time record of 42 C was set last year.

     When I came here, I brought a few Japanese and Siberian Iris starts.
All of them had to go back to climates with colder winters.  Last winter, we
went to or below 0 C a total of 18 times, with
-7 C being the coldest.  That still did not chill them enough.  The average
minimum here in the coldest month is 6 C, with a normal maximum of about 21
C.
     Louisiana Irises love it here.
