Margaret, I really don't know what to tell you but you have my sympathies.The
deer must be real hungry but soon other things will catch their attention.
I think given how early in the season it is where you are that I'd probably
toss around a little bit of 5-10-10. Snow will carry it in. And have you
tried that bit with the shavings of Iris Spring soap in the garden? I don't
know if it does anything but there is an arguement for tossing some of that
around at this point too to see if it will keep them off the newly emerging
foliage. The advantage to that as opposed to the homemade egg-based potions
is that the rain renews it as opposed to your having to renew it after a
rain.
