I saw these in Argentina this past year.  I thought I had
discovered LAs growing.  When I went close, I discovered
that while they were very iris-like, the bloom construction
was enough different to make me think they were in the 
family, but not irises.  I saw these in yellow and what I
would call lavender blue, actually moving toward blue.  Lovely
clumps when in bloom, giving the same effect as well grown
iris clump.  Probably have tropical weather requirements
based on where they growing.
