From this morning's Iris-talk news reports:

From Ellen Gallagher:

coming down.

Here on the western fringes of the Rockies, I sowed seeds of the early
spring vegetables yesterday while the cranes were flying overhead on their
spring migration (in local garden lore, St. Patrick's Day is the proper
time to sow your peas, but I had an inkling of what was coming). This
morning there is three inches of fresh snow on the ground.
Do you think that to keep the Emerald Island forever green that St.
Patrick, while he was ridding Ireland of snakes, also sent the white stuff
far across the Western Ocean and bid it stay there 'til he called it back?
And who are these Green Meanies we have been hearing about? (-:
