There is an especially good if somewhat overly regal photograph of I.
germanica var. florentina on the HIPS page at:

You tell us. Does it look the same? And is your iris an IB? And is it
whitewhite or a greywhite, possibly with a faint blue haze on the falls? And
are those purple stains on the spathes of your iris?
