REF: Color Patterns for Dummies

Hi all,

This thread fizzled out before we really nailed it down...and I have
some difficulty in seeing what I believe evolved as a definition of
'umbrata' in the below mentioned cultivars...

I have always considered the irregular application of anthocyanin
(Honky Tonk Blues pattern) to be typified by the earliest good
example of this trait that I have been able to find: MONSIGNOR
(Vilmorin 07).

Just for discussion sake I would like to see what the consensus of
the definition of 'umbrata' fell out to be.

And, keeping HTB in mind and looking at MONSIGNOR, don't muddy the
waters by dragging in smooth margined spot, ring, halo, and rim
patterns! ;>

Cheers,
