There are many. Some are just deep purple/violet and are not sooty
like MO. I am wondering which ancestor in the Schreiner 'black' line
contributed to the overbloom that is in HELLO DARKNESS and THUNDER
SPIRIT. I don't think it was NAVY STRUT orr SUPERSTITION; it could
have been one of the numbered seedlings. I wonder why DUSKY
CHALLENGER doesn't appear often in black pedigrees. Is it because it
is unknown? I have never bloomed a DC seedling and do not know what
it throws. I know that plants are on the market with the parentage
of Silverado x Dusky Challenger or the reverse, but I have not seen
any of them in bloom.
