I have seeds treated in 2 ways--some (few) that were planted in
October and not stratified, but taken directly into the greenhouse.
Of those, I have had 2 of 11 seeds from a TB x SDB cross germinate,
and 1 of 23 from an SDB x SDB. I am not sure that I can expect any
more this year, since those that germinated did so in December, and
there have been no additions since (although I do find evidence of
old seeds germinating two or three years later sometimes) Of a group
of about 40 LAs (not from planned crosses), 1 germinated yesterday.
Of a group of 20 or so Pardancanda seeds (collected at a nursery),
all have germinated.

My SIGNA seeds are still in the cooler and will not come out for
germination for another 4 weeks.

"The expression 'a liberal education' originally meant one worthy of
freemen. Such is education simply in a true and broad sense. But
education ordinarily so called--the learning of trades and
professions which is designed to enable men to earn their living, or
to fit them for a particular station in life--is servile."

--Henry David Thoreau, Journals, December 12, 1859
