HIST: Anybody good with names?

Is anyone out there even just slightly adept at identifying heirloom irises. I can't believe I call myself an heirloom gardener and I can't even identify an iris but none of my stuff has it. Any tips would be appreciated. I can give detailed descriptions to whoever answers my email.
