Hi Walter,
I know that with this unseasonable weather, I was out weeding in earnest trying to keep ahead of the hensbit that thought it could bloom and set seed before the next cold period. I think I got most of it. Looks like the alfalfa fields will be purple with it again this year. Pretty but not to good for hay. Now it is frozin ground again, at least where I watered. Last year we had such a wonderful discussion on why pink is pink. I kept all of it and really enjoyed the discussion. We also hit a little on why some cultivars do well in the north and poorly in the south, and vice versa, with realtion to background parentage. This was a real eye opener to someone who thought iris were iris and acted the same everywhere. Talk about nieve. I would like to hear more on this. It would help me pick cultivars more appropriate for my area. Anyone else have any ideas?
Wendy

Last week-end I reported about the slack time in early February and
compared it to a portion of 'American Pie.' Thanks for the many
kind comments. I am happy my post might have brought back
Starlord; at least, he made a recent appearance on iris-photos.
Glad to see you, Dennis! U de man. The year is 2525 and all is
well on the high desert.
We have more members than ever but fewer posts. Have we
talked about everything there is to talk about on the subject of
irises?
I have no authority to make this type of post or to editoralize, and I
do apologize if I have offended anybody with my observations.
That is all they are - just observations.
Stately Guest Manor and Chateau Whitehall, prepare to receive our
transmission.

mood swings and covering and uncovering).
