LADY FRIEND has been erratic here - it usually tries to grow and bloom
but seems more sensitive than average to our late killing freezes and
subsequent rot. I mean to say, it is more likely to rot than most after
a late damaging freeze. It has been absolutely spectacular at least one
year & definitely worth trying again. I hope it wasn't all killed here
last year - a rougher-than-most killing-spring-freeze season.

I agree - tho I am usually not willing to buy/try a second or third
unless I've seen it somewhere locally looking gorgeous or somebody
insists I give it another try.

Speaking of late freeze damage - we are getting set up now - warm rainy
days, lows in the 40s, alternating with sunny days into the 60s or
higher & lows barely down to the low 30s; forecast is for this to
continue for at least a week. Keeping my fingers crossed that when it
drops again, lows won't get below the mid-20s, but there's still a good
chance it will get colder. <maybe not this year!>
