Donald, I find that encouraging in a way - if you have seeds from two
pods of the same cross & one germinates & the other doesn't, that
implies to me that <something> was "off" in production of those seeds in
the pod that isn't germinating.  So the good news may be that it isn't
our fault; the bad news is that we are stuck with low viability.

The common thread?  Those horrid late freezes - given how little pollen
production I got last year, waaay after the last bad freeze, which
occured well before stalks were showing, makes me suspicious that this
is also affecting seed viability in some subtle way.  Chromosome
damage.... acgkk!
