Those little seed are programmed--- x temperature, x amount of moisture, x
amount of light--bury them too deep and they may not sprout for 20 years.
Mother Natures survival trick. This can explain why seed that don't sprout
the first year do the second year. Through the months, soil washes out,
down, off . . . whatever. It's impossible to get all seed covered to
exactly the same depth . . . and it does make a difference.
