The financial report for the year is completed--Membership took in $
2,215.00 with expenses of $ 325.77--compared to $ 2,224.00 and $ 340.76 for
the year before--so I am going to put $ 2,250 and $ $350.00 in the proposed
budget for you--
I have been thinking up ways to publicize HIPS more--I had gotten a set of
slides from Joan for our last club meeting--Great Iris of the 40's and
50's--and at the end of the slide list, there was a note to talk about
HIPS--so I thought--why not include some flyers with each slide set? During
the HIPS Board meeting I want to discuss more publicity--perhaps doing a
flyer which can be sent to each RVP--with info about HIPS--and a short
write-up to go in each regional newsletter--now that we have color in Roots,
we have to make more money to pay for it.
Are you going to send a report to the Board Meeting?The Board will have to
look at the cost of Roots and will have to decide how to pay for it--I am
sure that a dues increase should be done--so am really trying to put a lot
of information into my report--so that Board Members will have something to
look at and realize that we need an increase to cover the cost of Roots.
I am also still trying to get some pix of early Iris put into a set--so that
there will be a couple sets for Dorothy to sell--
Since Dorothy will be taking some of the publication items to the meeting,
we need some flyers also--and I can put them in the room with the Silent
Auction--if you have enough flyers, send me some, and I will include them in
the box I send to me at the hotel--too heavy to carry with me--with the
computer and printer also.
We are still having snow and cold--were on a warm cycle this last week--but
are now going into a cold cycle for next week--lows in the single
digits--really getting tired of the cold--but nice to spend the days in the
family room with the stove going--
