Thanks for your input Bill. Are these all of the AMs you grow or just
ones I didn't mention in the previous post?
Everybody, for future input, please keep the entire list when you send a
reply back - just type the performance information next to the name.
Makes it much easier to enter into the spreadsheet. I can send a
private email of the list of AMs & HMs to anybody who wants it that way
- then you can just <reply> <quote> & type away.
I thought it best to start as simply as possible. I considered having
just two categories - dead vs alive. However, I have so many that just
limp along, maybe managing to bloom nicely now and then, or even holding
their own enough to replace themselves and bloom nearly every year, but
not increasing, so wanted another category. And there seem to be quite
a few that grow well, increase well, but can't seem to produce normal
stalks most years (short and stumpy, or no stalks at all).
Having three categories seems to work for most of the folks who've sent
me information - most can readily tell if they have a dead rhizome <g>
or if something is above average for THEIR growing conditions. Maybe in
the future we can do something more complex.
