This has been a very unusual & wonderful spring here, at least compared
to the last decade. I
can't remember the last time I got to enjoy the daffodil Ice Follies -
it is usually frozen repeatedly with very few blooms getting to open
normally. And one year, was frozen so severely, that the foliage was
killed to the ground (turned black and rotted). This year, it is
perfect!
Same goes for the early forsythia, now approaching peak bloom, and some
of the other early daffodils. Drifts of bloodroot in the ravine behind
the house are opening. Lovely weather, not too hot so far.
