The old wives tale is that iris with PBF are tougher, bloom better, and so
on.

PBF means "purple base foliage." I really don't know the importance of
this factor. . . guess I missed those posts when it was discussed! I just
know that it's discussed at great length. Perhaps someone can clue me in as
