Same here - the earlier the better.  

Neil, do you think they can tolerate being left lying around like you
might plants to be shipped at this stage?  I am usually just replanting
them myself when I dig right after bloom, so they don't dry much and
roots can immediately continue growth.

<The things I've dug and divided right after bloom have thrived more in
