When I moved to Bowling Green in 1998 I bought EW at my local WalMart and it
was the only one to bloom true. I've had it ever since with at least some
bloom stalk each year. <gb> Even crossed with it a time or two. Yes, I'm sure
it's EW!
I ran out of space that fall and stuck Edith in the only spot that was left.
A 15 inch pot with used soil! Since then, I've divided it and taken a large
number of rhizomes to the local sale. But, I put it back into the same pot .
. . if it ain't broke don't fix it!
It received half a day shade at the old place, but then everything did. There
IS no shade at the new place and the pot is sitting on the south side of my
shed. Noticed new growth just yesterday. It will need to be divided this year
but it's going BACK in the pot with new soil added. With so much space
available I'll probably stick some of it in a couple of other places. Guess we'll
see how it does now!
