I find it very hard to imagine anything that's named 'Cranberry' or
'Raspberry' fits within a 'lavender/lilac' color group.

Are you incorporating those strictly because of pedigree/traits, or do they
really belong in that color class, in your opinion.

Myself I think of lavender as a pure purple (50% blue - 50% red) diluted
with white the way you would dilute black to grey, and lilac would be
anything between lavender and a true pink (true pink being derived from a
primary red diluted with white).  Of course those definitions of pink and
lavender would have an almost infinite range of colors themselves just from
the 'percent' white in the tint.
