Interesting, Francelle. Germination is much higher in seeds from
crosses of the most reliable/healthy cultivars here, especially seeds
from "bee" pods on seedlings.
I'm starting to think that some of the low percent germination every
year from most crosses has something to do with the health and vigor of
the parents in my garden conditions. And might be a factor for Donald
Eaves, who is in an even worse growing environment.
Anybody else have any thoughts/experience with this?
<I also crossed it with Silverado, planted about thirty seeds and got
zero germination. Silverado has never done well for me,
and managed to rot itself away last year..... Francelle
