TB COLOR; lilac vs. lavender

<Care to take a stab and tell my what is the difference in the colors of
lilac and lavender?>
 
Donald:  My lilac bushes are lavender as opposed to blue.  To me, lilac has some pink to it (or rose, as Dorothy said)  and could be described as pinkish lavender.  Lavender, in my humble and inexpert opinion, is very pale purplish blue.
