This caught my attention.
"... not only is the mechanism identified (and patented)..."
How on Earth can you push through the patent office a naturally occuring
process of wild plants, and get it approved!
Does this mean that all wild plants using this pathway or mechanism owe
royalties to the patent holders? Or am I missing something; is it just
theoretical and not known to really occur in nature?
