Linda,
As a rule, I don't keep pots more than two years for my MTB seeds.  I know 
that seeds might germinate after that, but it is too hard to keep track of 
all those pots.  Often the second year germination will be better than 
first, but I normally stop after two years.  I might be inclined to keep a 
very promising pot with lots of seeds (50-100) for a third year.
