And sometimes it seems to be something to do with the individual
rhizomes. I've dug happy clumps and reset in a row and sometimes some
of the rhizomes just sit there, others take off and grow like mad. Some
cultivars (and some of my seedlings) seem to be a lot more prone to this
variability than others. Sometimes I wonder if it's the stage of
growth/rest they happen to be in when dug.
26oF this AM - not cold enough to knock out most bloom, but probably
will do some damage. Especially to germanica stalks that are already
up. Hoping they are close enough to the house to get enough protection
to make it.
