Linda...don't worry. Siberian iris seed germinates fast and like crazy.
That is why it is so important to not let seed pods open and scatter on the
plants. If you do not collect seed pods before they open, you will end up
not being able to identify the named cultivars. The seedlings grow in,
around, and among them and identity if often lost. (This is also why you
must be careful where you buy your Siberian irises....some general nurseries
are notorious for selling named cultivars that are incorrect...the plants are
grown in fields, and if pods ripen and open....well, you can imagine.)
