There are exceptions to this rule, as with most rules. (After all, if Clara
Rees had known the "rules" she would never have tried the cross that produced
SNOW FLURRY...for those who may not know her story, there is an excellent
chapter on it in Harry Randall"s excellent book IRISES..alto long out of
