I have been enjoying the list as a new member for the last couple of
weeks. Thanks to all of you for very informative iris conversation! My
name is Amy Hill. I live in central Nebraska. I am an AIS member,
Region 21. I have raised mostly TBs due to the fact that there was a
commercial iris garden nearby that dealt with mostly TBs. From the
recent Aril discussion, sounds like I should give them a try!
I do need encouragement in one respect. Our local iris society met last
week for the first time in '97. Sad to say, our group is down to a very
struggling 9 members. We've lost several the last couple of years. Have
any of you in local societies faced this challenge? Any advise? The
group is hoping I will bring in the new blood. I am the youngest,
30-something and holding, but most of my non-iris friends don't have
time. We are trying to involve some local 4-H kids interested in
horticulture, but don't yet know if it will prove successful.
Anyway, this list helps boost my iris spirit!
Greetings from Nebraska,
