Greetings from North Texas! I have been lurking in the shadows long
enough and have decided to come out and introduce myself. I live in
a small town 60 miles north of Dallas - Sherman, TX. No, it is not
names for the famous (infamous?) Civil War general.
I have been growing irises for nearly 50 years, seriously for the last
l5. I have found it is the only way to get relief from an acute case
of "iris virus". I am a member of two local iris societies, the
American Iris Society, The British Iris Society, belong to The Median
Iris Society, HIPS, The Reblooming Iris Society,SIGNA, and the Sooner
State Iris Society(Okla.).
I was co-editor of the Region l7 newsletter for a period of three
years . I am a garden judge, and in my spare time I grow irises,
having about 650 in my back yard. Today I was gardening in my sun hat
and sleeves rolled up.
I very much enjoy the Iris-L line and hope, from time to time, to
contribute a worthwhile comment.
Happy irising y'all,
Ellen B. Sullivan
