The discussion on arilbreds and arilbred medians sent me searching
through my sea of 1997 catalogs to locate some more. Larry Harder's
Maple Tree Gardens in Nebraska lists 17 varieties of which 6 were
hybridized by Gadd in Masssachusetts including PATRIOT'S GEM.
There are 2 by Sharon McAllister, BAYBERRY BABY '92 and IMPUTANT
ELF '93. There are also familiar names like JEWEL OF OMAR that even
I recognize.
Is there anybody from the colder climates growing any of these?
Would I be foolhardy to try them? Not the first time since I am
trying Spurias this summer and might order a Louisiana or two
as well. :-)
