iI have found a way to fertilize our iris and daylily and other plantings
without an allergy attack for my wife. I use a system which Jules Ridel
(deceased) told me about while we were at the Phoenix AIS Convention in 1983.
He and I use a syphonex adapter to the sill cock faucet and mix 12 heaping
tablespoons of K-Pro
Grow (KMART) in a five gallon bucket. Then with a wand springler head on my
garden hose I drench my iris beds in early spring right after bed cleanup.
Then again
three weeks prior to open bloom. K-Pro Grow is the same as Miracle Grow but
a lot cheaper in price. Are there any other iris growers who use this same
system?
The syphonex can be bought from most any garden or nursery supply house.

Temperature here in Colorado Springs, CO will be in the 70's today. We have
had
a very dry winter. I haven't used my snow blower once so far this winter.
King Alfred
Jonquills (sp) are about 3" inches out of the ground now.
