Hello, Heather. My source of plant markers is EON Industries in Ohio, a
small, family enterprise. They advertise in several gardening magazines,
including National Gardening. Nice folks to do business with, and much less
"pricey!"
I favor the "Style E Nursery Marker", tilted metal (zinc-coated) face plate
available on 10", 15", or 20" double wire "post". You can get 100 of the
10" for $22.80; 100 of the 15" for 25.85; or 100 of the 20" for $29.00, plus
shipping. A "Sharpie" marker pen, crayon style pencil or embossed tape,
etc., can be used to put the info. on the face plate.
They also have several other styles, and will send you a brochure for the
asking:
EON Industries, P.O. Box 11, Liberty Center, OH 43532
No phone orders or credit cards. Service has been excellent to me.
(Above info., excluding testimonial, is from Apr. 1997 National Gardening
magazine.)
