In Sept. 1995 I planted 2 arilbred irises which I ordered from
Schreiner's, ESTHER THE QUEEN and KHYBER PASS. I planted them near the
alley in full sun but a rather dry and well drained spot, for hot & humid
Richmond, VA. Last year they were surviving, even though irisarians in
the area lost lots of iris to rot and drowning.
This year KHYBER PASS has 1 bloom stalk.
ESTHER THE QUEEN has 3 bloomstalks, one looking like it might be open
next week. I have never even seen an arilbred iris in bloom before. I
am very excited to see them bloom in Richmond, VA.
