Are we talking about the same cutworms that destroy tomato plants. A
friend who is a great vegetable gardener puts collars around her plants.
Would that work here as well? She also uses a ring of wood ashes to
keep the slugs away -- apparently it hurts them when they try to crawl
over it. Old wives tales or the absolute unvarnished truth?
