Don't mulch with it and REALLY fresh stuff would be an experience I'd take
a pass on, just having been rolled in yesterday by a calf stronger than
myself, but dry and composted manure should be relatively safe when worked
into the soil.  It may be that it could cause more problems in climates
with more moisture.  Composted manure is infinitely more preferable than
dry, as it is less likely to become a grubworm colony.  Armadillos love to
dig in either.  However, here it aids in keeping the soil moisture
retentive plus gives a long lasting fertilizer for plant use and has been
one of the more effective soil amendments.
