I have just been involved in distributing seed from a number of seed
exchanges to our local rock garden society. I am not a member of all
these societies and did not understand the large number of species iris
seed that can be obtaining through these sources. In particular, bot
The Alpine Garden Society and The Scottish Rock Garden Club each lists
about 100 different species. Both of these societies have excellent
reputations for their expertize in plants and, for that reason, I would
imagine that the species listed are likely to be accurate.
It also looks as if I will soon have a source of wild seed from the
Kazakstan Republic and, possibly, Tadjikistan.
