<< Hello, I am like a kid at Christmas today. Over the weekend I came
across an abandoned farm house and always having a shovel in my trunk,
I stopped and searched the overgrown areas. I was so HAPPY I hit the
jackpot out by the old barn. There were iris sprouting!! I knew it!!
And also what I think are daffodils. I dug up 5 iris rhizome and one
spade full of the daffodils. Took them home and promptly planted
them. I can't wait to see what they are. (Does anyone else out there
get a giddy feeling like this? Is it normal or should I seek
professional help?? My husband is thinking the latter.....)

Teresa,
Last summer, my family and I went to Ohio for a week's vacation. In our
travels back and forth to the store ( it rained all week) I noticed a large
stand of Peony, in front of an abandoned home ( this place was nearly falling
down). So, my DH and I do the same thing, we get the shovel out, ( I was only
going to take a start~as this is my practice) and no sooner did I have the
spade in the ground than a car pulls up behind us ( mind you we are int he
middle of NO WHERE) . Lo and behold, this very elderly man gets out of the car
and asks why were digging up Aunt Martha's flowers! Can you believe this! Of
all the luck ! After a few negotiations (and few tall tales on DH's part),
the gentleman allows me to dig a start and we head back down the road!
