Lane, most of the lovely irises I mentioned are readily available and at very
modest prices from one or another of the nurseries who stock historic
cultivars. I'm not going to post all the information I have about each since
that would be a bit much, I think, and also I am still sifting through the
catalogs this office is receiving to determine who exactly has what available
this year, but if you, or anyone else, are particularly interested in knowing
about any I mentioned, or any other historic iris, please don't hesitate to
send me a note privately to either of my two addresses below. "Where to Buy
It" Referrals R Us, and you don't have to be a member of HIPS to ask. I might
also add that if anyone out there is looking for something older but not yet
historic, I may even be able to help direct you there, too. We take a whack at
all questions.
And for pictures of several fine irises I mentioned, and other interesting
historic irises of all ages, most of which--most--are commercially available,
visit the HIPS site Mike Lowe maintains. It is an education in itself!
