Hi Janice,
One place you can go is to Mercer Arboretum, 22306 Aldine Westfield,
Humble Tx. (713)443-8731. Ask for Linda Gay. She is head Hort. Mercer
has a wonderful display of LA iris. Linda also was working on beds for
bearded iris. She belongs to AIS. She could tell you what they have
found works best for growing them in Houston. My experience was to
cut down pine trees, raise beds, and use lots of lime,move north!
